Summary Of 12 Rules Of The Life - An Antidote To Chaos by Jordan B. Peterson

12 rules For life: Antidote to clutter is a bestseller of a self-help book from Jordan. This book contains ethical principles of life that are abstract, influenced and based on biology, literature, religion, myth and research. Jordan made this book more accessible than the previous book known as Maps of Meaning.

Let's start with a summary of the 12 rules of life:

Rule 1: Stand straight with your shoulders back

The author of this book says that there are many similarities between lobsters and humans, lobsters live on the seabed, they need a base there, they need a place to hunt their prey and find suitable wild animals for them. Whether lobsters consume a little rain from the constant chaos of carnage and death on high and want a safe place, a home so they can live in a safe environment and from where everything is easy and close, the authors say. that such behavior and thoughts towards lobsters can cause problems, but if there are many lobsters and two of them occupy the same place or area.

Rule 2: Treat yourself as someone you are responsible for helping

The author of this chapter says why not just take your goddamn pill? The author asks us to imagine that hundreds of people have been prescribed drugs. Now think about what happened next. The authors say that one-third of them will not fulfill a prescription, some will skip a dose, others will fill up. but they will win. "If you use the drug correctly, they will take it earlier or some will not take it at all, say the authors, doctors and pharmacists blame patients for such inconsistencies, do not act, say you can take the horse to the water but the psychologist does not blame the patient, he blames himself, if the patient does not follow the prescription until he asks, psychologists tend to view such judgments gloomy, psychologists believe that the failure of patients is their fault.

They believe that health care providers have a responsibility to give preference to following advice. You plan with the patient to continue testing until the desired results are achieved. They are after their patient. I say this is just one of the many things that make psychologists so great, I say we have enough time with our clients. It is our responsibility to help them. Psychologists are not like other professionals who wonder why sick people don't take their medicine, what's wrong with it or don't want to fix it?

Rule 3: Befriend people who want what is best for you

The author says be careful when choosing friends because sometimes people choose the wrong friends for various reasons, sometimes they choose the wrong friends because they want to save themselves, this is usually done by young people and even parents who remain naive or intentionally blind. The author says that you need to find friends who always want the best and the best for you, who always have a desire to help others, because our environment is very important, our friends play a role and play a very important role in our lives. Therefore always be careful when choosing friends.

Rule 4: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today

Author says that no matter how good you are at something, there is someone out there who will always make you look incompetent, but your comparison should never be with others but your comparison and your competition should be always you, because when you compare yourself with others you make your life more stressful and frustrated, but when you compete with your own self you will always becme better than the yesterday, hence author says that always compare yourself to who you were yesterday not to who someone else is today, because someone else can change later, for example, todays huge superstar can turn evil tomorrow, hence always see and become better than who you were yesterday never compare someone’s today with your hard work.
